Arkansas GardenCorps Members serve a unique role within an organization. They offer a service currently unmet within the organization and can provide enhancement for existing programs and/or assist with taking a program to the next level. Successful Service Sites have a well-defined plan for development and continuation of their garden(s) and educational programs as well as a clear direction for their Service Member(s). Successful Service Sites also provide strong support and guidance from their Service Site Supervisor, the organization with whom they are serving, and the community. Service Site applicants are strongly encouraged to be as specific as possible in their application so that these key elements are clear to the review committee.

4. Please describe any garden-based educational programming (e.g. student classes and afterschool programs, community workshops, one-on-one mentoring, etc.) currently taking place. Include a history of their development, your organization's current involvement in them, and plans for the future. All Arkansas GardenCorps programs are required to deliver nutrition education, including one 6-lesson Cooking Matters course (https://cookingmatters.org/). Total cost estimate per course is $500. Some supporting funds will be available to assist with delivery of Cooking Matters. Please describe how you intend to meet this requirement.
