This award will be awarded to an outstanding community partner that has participated in research. The criteria for the award can be seen below.

Nominations are due October 5, 2018.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • A community based organization (CBO) independent of UAMS, ACH, ACRI, and the VA that works with “groups of people affiliated by geographic proximity, special interest, or similar situations to address the well-being of those communities” OR a community advisory board (CAB).
  • Organization or CAB that has partnered in health research.
  • Demonstrated one or more of the cultural competencies of community partners.

Selection Criteria:

  • Combines the knowledge and wisdom in communities & in academic institutions to solve major health, social and/or economic challenges.
  • Builds the capacity of communities & higher educational institutions to engage each other in authentic partnerships.
  • Develops partnerships that balance power and share resources among partners.
  • A partnership that others can aspire to.
  • Achieves significant outcomes that go beyond a process or a single event.
  • Demonstrates the ability of partnerships to transform people, organizations and systems.
